Nice To Meet You Roblox, We're GoNoodle

Are your kiddos Roblox fans? Fall in love with our new game, GoNoodle Hide and Seek, as we expand good energy beyond the classroom and home into a space kids know and love. ~ Sarah Halloran

Nice To Meet You Roblox, We're GoNoodle

What incentives drive your kids to do the things you ask? Is it cold hard cash? A stroll through Target for a toy of their choosing? Or is it all about the Robux? If you’re already knee deep in the world of Roblox, keep reading – we’ve got some winning tidbits. If you’re thinking, “Ro-what?” sit back and enjoy the ride as we help you understand this new tech-platform that is all the rage among the littles.

Either way, let us introduce our new game, GoNoodle Hide and Seek – this nostalgic neighborhood game is now available on Roblox. Kids can join McPufferson in a lobby, as they vote for their favorite Champ world, and be led through two different Hide and Seek Champ worlds: Squatchy’s Forest and Om Petalhead’s Magical Garden. The lobby is a fun, social place for your kiddos to explore – with a shop to use their Robux, leaderboards, and a countdown for when the next game starts.

Your kids can explore the Champ worlds, find surprises, earn power ups, make the leaderboard, and purchase upgrades in this fun, free GoNoodle game on Roblox! They can find it by typing GoNoodle Hide and Seek into their Roblox search box and start playing immediately.

Our hope with this first game is to help you and yours revive the love of Hide and Seek, inspire outdoor Hide and Seek play sessions this summer, and maybe spark an interest in getting outside for a hike, visiting a botanical garden, or doing some planting as kiddos see the awesome forest and garden worlds we’ve created within Roblox. Let us know what you think and be sure to tag us @GoNoodle in any videos or photos of your family playing GoNoodle Hide and Seek on Roblox on Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, Twitter, or Facebook for a chance to be featured in our social media.

Getting to Know Roblox

Over the past year, we’re heard from a lot of you about your tech fears – concerns your kids are over-stimulated by their use of screens while learning and playing. At the same time, Roblox has gained popularity among GoNoodle’s core audience of kids. We know many of you are struggling with how to work Roblox time into your kid’s active versus passive screen time breakdown considerations. Our goal as we move into Roblox is to get to know the platform with you, bring your tips and tricks, and look for ways we can get kids moving – mentally, emotionally, and physically – during Roblox play sessions.

If you aren’t sure if your kiddos are ready for Roblox, checkout below some common questions from other parents to help guide you in this new experience.

How much does Roblox cost?

Roblox uses a freemium/premium model. You can play GoNoodle Hide and Seek – and most games on Roblox – for free. In-game currency, called Robux, are used to buy fun upgrades within games. Robux can be purchased directly or Roblox offers three subscription levels in its Roblox Premium membership, each of which include a Robux allowance:

  • $4.99 per month includes 450 Robux
  • $9.99 per month includes 1,000 Robux
  • $19.99 per month includes 2,200 Robux

Are there parental controls for Roblox?

Roblox offers controls to let parents restrict how kids can interact on the site and the types of games they can play. Parental controls can be activated to enable strict chat filters, block inappropriate words and phrases, and use a function called ‘Age Visibility’ to determine settings for kids that are age appropriate. To enable these settings, add your email address to your kid’s account and create a PIN that prevents kids from changing the settings back. The account controls are optional; kids of any age can create an account on Roblox with no parental restrictions. On accounts of kids under 13, Roblox automatically defaults to stricter settings, but a kid could change these if there’s no parental PIN. For more information, click here.

Are children able to chat with others in the GoNoodle Hide and Seek game and is it safe?

The GoNoodle game does offer the chat function, with the intent to make it available to parents who believe it to be a positive, skill-building experience for their child. Roblox encourages users to interact through its Chat & Party functions. Chatting in accounts of kids under 13 is more heavily filtered and moderated by Roblox, and can be controlled through parental settings. Roblox also employs human monitors who keep an eye out for inappropriate language and content. If your child is fairly new to writing/typing, chat could become frustrating so it might be smart to start with chat disabled.

Are there parental controls around Robux?

You’re able to track purchases and password protect your credit cards within Roblox, so no unanticipated purchases can be made. The GoNoodle Hide and Seek game will be super fun without any upgrades, but kids might want to use some of their Robux to unlock specific in-game upgrades. For more information, click here.
